Art in the Village returns to Depot Park, Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Clarkston Community Historical Society expects around 10,000 people to attend. With so many different types of art on display, entertainment and activities for kids there is something for everyone.
‘We have entertainment both days,? said Jen Arkwright, the President of Clarkston Community Historical Society. ‘We have a silent auction (with items donated by the artists), an antique tent, a merchandise tent and a cider and donut tent.?
Admission to the Fair is free, but Clarkston merchandise, antiques, art, and food will be for sale.
Arkwright added there will be face painting and a playground for children as well.
There will be many different types of art on display, including paintings, glass, metal, fabric, mixed media, jewelry, pen and ink, clay and fiber.
The Clarkston Community Historical Society has hosted the event for the past 41 years and it is the society’s main fundraiser.
‘Funds are used to operate the Clarkston Heritage Museum and Society programming,? said Arkwright.
Local civic groups may also be selling food to fundraise for their group.
Many of the artists at the fair are local and had to submit an application to be considered to have a booth. This process happens in the spring, but there are still a few artists? booths available this year.
The Clarkston Community Historical Society is looking for volunteers to take short shifts and their booth throughout the weekend.
