Veterans, students, staff and community members gathered at Kingsbury Country Day School in Addison Twp. Friday morning for a Veterans Day celebration. Following a ceremony that included a flag-raising, patriotic songs and a prayer, the veterans visited classrooms where they shared their experiences with students and answered their questions.

Auditor gives village finances ‘clean opinion’

Oxford Village’s financial statements for the 2015-16 fiscal year scored high marks from the auditor at last week’s council meeting. Local voters overwhelmingly reject regional transit tax

Voters in Oxford and Addison townships soundly rejected the proposed regional mass transit tax. Based on the unofficial election results, Oxford voters thrashed it 6,783 to 3,366, while Addison voters thumped it 2,372 to 983. Lots of voters

Voter turn-out was high in Oxford and Addison townships. In Oxford, a total of 11,225 (or 73.5 percent) of the township’s 15,270 registered voters participated in the election. Addison saw 3,707 (or 77.1 percent) of its 4,808 registered voters cast a ballot in the general election.
