Barton Hodge, 81

Barton “Moke” Hodge, age 81, of Oxford, MI and Fort Pierce, FL passed away at home on Thursday, February 13, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife Suzan, daughter Kathy (Steve) Laidlaw, son Bart (Julie) Hodge, grandchildren Nicole (Andy) Ludwig, Allie (Aaron) Lanctot, Bart, Katie and Bryce Hodge, great-grandchildren Annie “AJ” Lanctot and Alara Ludwig, sister Katie Nidiffer, sisters-in-law Joanne Sweeney, Dawn Maguire and Joan Hodge and many nieces and nephews. Moke was preceded in death by his parents Dock and Mattie Hodge, sister Gwen Jenkins and brother Clifford “Cotton” Hodge. Moke was born on June 27, 1943 in Fonde, KY. His family moved to Oxford in 1953. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1961. He retired from Nabisco as a sales rep in 1996. He had many interests throughout his life but in the last few years he enjoyed his walks and swinging at the Jetty while he spent his winters in Florida. He was a great husband, dad, “Buddy” and great-buddy. He will be missed very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at GravCap Brewery 14 N. Washington St. Oxford on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Choice Hospice 12500 E. 13 Mile Rd. Warren, MI 48093 or Charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford.
