Though the Wildcats put up a strong effort at home on Sept. 20 against the visiting Brandon Blackhawks, Oxford dropped the match 2-0, unable to score any goals.
Head Coach John Thaler said the game was full of close, competitive play even though the Wildcats were unable to get any points on the board.
Though he let two goals past his defenses, Thaler said the Wildcat’s keeper, sophomore Tristan Bennett gave a strong performance throughout the game, leading the defense.
This game puts Oxford soccer 6-4-2 overall. After a game at Royal Oak on Sept. 25, the Wildcats will take the field again on Sept. 27 away against Anchor Bay.
