Bowling to benefit friends, neighbors

Sixty-eight bowlers and about eight volunteers helped out at the Bowlathon this past Saturday, raising $1,600 to benefit Clarkston resident Jean Cavalier, who has breast cancer, Birmingham resident Mark Roby, who has liver cancer, and Oxford resident Audrey Tenaglia, who has colon cancer.
“We really appreciated the community coming together and supporting us when everyone’s budget is tight this year,” said Michelle Phaup, founder and executive director of Lend a Helping Hand. “A special thanks to Rudy’s, P’fino’s, Karen Birch, Pam Ford Morgan, and Julie Thomas from Morgan, Milzow Real Estate for their donated raffle prizes.”
