Oxford’s boys track and field team performed well at the 57th Annual Elmer Ball Invite on Saturday.
With 19 teams competing, the boys scored a combined 57 points, tying Farmington for second place.
Lake Orion won the Invite with 90 points.
Oxford’s boys won the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:31.78. The relay team consisted of Shane Ross, Logan Coughlin, Simon Arnold and Scott Masterson.
Individually, Masterson took first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.99, while Sam Murray cleared 12 feet, 6 inches to win the pole vault event.
Ross scored two second place finishes, one in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.59 and one in the 110-meter hurdles where his time was 14.96.
Although he finished sixth in the shot put event, Marcus Hufnagel did set a personal record with a throw of 41 feet, 7.75 inches.
With a combined 43 points, Oxford’s girls team took seventh out of 18 teams at the Invite. Lake Orion was the winner with 100.5 points.
In the 400-meter dash, Antonia Vackaro finished second with a time of 1:01.59. Olivia Drobnich was right behind her and finished third at 1:02.33.
Eriana Hubbard took third place in the shot put event with a throw of 34 feet, 2 inches.
