Brandon School board election deadline Aug. 16

Brandon Twp.- The deadline for filing to be placed on the November ballot as a candidate for school board trustee is 4 p.m., Aug. 16.
Voters will select two district residents to fill two open seats on the school board this fall as Luke Frye and Kevin McClellan complete their terms ending Dec. 31. Frye is uncertain whether he will seek re-election to the 4-year term. McClellan, who was appointed by the board in December to complete the term of Oakland County Commissioner Beth Nuccio, said he will be a candidate for one of the open seats.
To be considered for school board trustee, candidates must be residents of the Brandon School District, at least 18 years of age, and must pay a fee of $100, or collect a minimum of 40 or maximum of 100 signatures of registered voters on a petition that can be obtained at the township clerk’s office, 395 Mill St.
Petitions or the fee must be turned in by 4 p.m., Aug. 16, at the Oakland County Elections Division, County Service Center, Bldg. #12 East, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac, MI 48341.
Details: Township Clerk Jeannie McCreery, 248-627-2851 or OC Elections Division, 248-858-0564.
