For bids $17,932 or more, a minimum of 5% bid security, either in the form of a Bid Bond or Cashiers? Check payable to Brandon School District, must accompany each bid. In accordance with Michigan Compiled Laws Section 129.201, successful contractor(s) must obtain Performance and Payment Bonds for any Bid Category exceeding $50,000. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall be in an amount equal to the contract amount. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall be solely for the protection of Brandon School District. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan and be listed in the Federal Register or have an AM Best Rating of B+ or better.
As required by MCL 380.1267, all bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the Board of Education or the Superintendent of the school district. The Owner will not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement.
Bidders will also need to comply with Public Act 517 of 2012, an act to prohibit persons who have certain economic relationships with Iran from submitting bids on requests for proposals with this state, political subdivisions of this state, and other public entities; to require bidders for certain public contracts to submit certification of eligibility with the bid; to require reports; and to provide for sanctions for false certification. The bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement certifying compliance with this act. The Owner will not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement.

TO ESTABLISH A REGULAR ELECTION DATE
Please take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the Consolidated Election Law, as amended, the Board of Education of Brandon School District in the Counties of Oakland and Lapeer, Michigan, will conduct a public hearing on the establishment of a new regular election date pursuant to law.
The dates authorized by current law for school regular elections are:
(a) The November general election date (even years).
(b) The November general election date (odd years).
(c) The November general election date in both even and odd years.
(d) The May regular election date in both even and odd years.
(e) The odd year May regular election date.
The Board will discuss and consider all options for regular school election dates at the public hearing.
Establishment of a new regular election date will result in the term of office of current school board members being extended to fit the new election cycle.
The hearing will be held in the Board of Education meeting room in the District at 6:00 o’clock in the p.m. on the 10th day of December, 2007.
If the Board of Education fails to approve the tentative election date or any other date authorized by law, the regular election will continue to be held at the May general election annually, continuing with May 2008.
The Board of Education is authorized by law to adopt a resolution setting the regular election date immediately subsequent to the public hearing.

ON PROPOSED 2007-2008 BUDGET
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on June 11, 2007, at 6:00 o’clock p.m., at the Board of Education Meeting Room, 1025 South Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan, the Board of Education of Brandon School District will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 2007-2008 budget.
The Board may not adopt its proposed 2007-2008 budget until after a public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2007-2008 budget including the proposed property tax millage rate is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Brandon School District Business Office,1025 South Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

INVITATION TO BID ON USED SCHOOL EQUIPMENT
Bids will be accepted by the Brandon School District Business Office, located at 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, MI 48462, beginning Monday, August 7, 2006, through Friday, August 11, 2006, until 2:00 p.m.
Envelopes should be sealed and marked ‘Used Equipment Bids?.
The equipment will be sold in an ‘as is condition? to the highest bidder. There is no minimum acceptable bid.
A cashiers check, certified check or money order for 10% of the bid must accompany each bid as a good faith deposit, and shall be made payable to the Brandon School District. Good faith deposits of unsuccessful bidders will be returned within ten (10) days after the bid is awarded. The good faith deposit will be forfeited to the school district as liquidated damages if, upon being awarded this bid, the successful bidder fails to complete payment in full, in cash, and take equipment and titles (s) within ten (10) days of the bid awards.
The school district makes no representations or warranties whatsoever concerning the equipment or its condition.
Brandon School District Business Office reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive any formalities and make the decision that is believed to be in the best interest of the school district.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED 2006-2007 BUDGET
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on June 12, 2006, at 6:00 o’clock p.m., at the Board of Education Meeting Room, 1025 South Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan, the Board of Education of Brandon School District will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 2006-2007 budget.
‘The Board may not adopt its proposed 2006-2007 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2006-2007 budget including the proposed property tax millage rate is available for public inspection during normal business hours at 1025 South Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

INVITATION TO BID ARSENIC TREATMENT SYSTEM
The Brandon School District is seeking bids for an Arsenic Treatment System for Nontransient Noncommunity Water Supplies and plumbing associated with the treatment system according to the attached specifications.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Sealed bids will be received at the Brandon School District, 1025 S. Ortonville Rd., Ortonville, MI 48462 Attn: Gary Kelley, Interim Finance Director, on or before 10:00 am December 21, 2005. No faxed or unsealed bids will be accepted.

Please take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the Consolidated Election Law enacted in December of 2003, the Board of Education of Brandon School District will conduct a public hearing on the establishment of a new regular election date pursuant to law.
The dates authorized by law for school regular elections are:
(a) The odd year May regular election date.
(b) The general election date in both even and odd years.
(c) The May regular election date in both even and odd years.
The Board has tentatively established May as the regular election date on a(an) even and odd year basis.
The hearing will be held in the Board of Ed. Mtg. Rm. in the district at 6:30 o’clock in the p.m. on the 13th day of September, 2004.
If the Board of Education fails to approve the tentative election date or any other date authorized by law, the regular election will be held at the odd year general election held in November commencing with the election to be held November 2, 2005.
The Board of Education is authorized by law to adopt a resolution setting the regular election date immediately subsequent to the public hearing.

Proposed minutes of said meeting will be available for public inspection during regular business hours at 1025 Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan, not more than eight business days after said meeting, and approved minutes of said meeting will be available for public inspection during regular business hours, at the same location, not more than five business days after the meeting at which they are approved. This notice is given in compliance with Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1976.
