Brandon Twp.- Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Greg Glover is temporarily filling in as substation commander here in the township.
The 1985 Brandon High School graduate is a seasoned veteran of OCSO, with the department for the past 25 years. He is stepping in for Sgt. Pete Burkett, who is on medical leave. Glover anticipates being the leader of the Brandon substation for the next six to eight weeks, a definite change from the OCSO Special Investigations Unit to which he has been assigned since 2006.
‘It’s a big change going from undercover work and working homicides, officer-involved shootings, internal investigations and investigations of outside police agencies,? he said. ‘It’s a little less stressful and a slower pace from what I’m used to, but I’ve missed patrol and substation work.?
Glover, a township resident, said working at the substation is like ‘coming home.? He worked on patrol in the township from 1995-98 before doing patrol in Independence Township and then working undercover on the Fugitive Apprehension Team for eight years before moving to SIU.
