On Saturday afternoon, Rochester-North Oakland Elks Lodge #2225 in Addison Township held its annual Polar Plunge fund-raising event.

Participants braved the cold and dove into the icy waters of Shadow Lake to raise money to help veterans in need through the Michigan Veterans Foundation.

Close to $700 was raised, but donations are still coming in.
