The Goodrich girls basketball squad continues to dominate the Genesee Area Conference Red Division.
The Martians routed visiting Montrose 61-22 on Sept. 30 to improve to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.
Nykole Pfaff led the Martians with 14 points, while Andrea Tubbs added 10.
On Sept. 25, the Martians faced a bit of a challenge, but pulled through to defeat host LakeVille 68-55 in GAC Red action.
The Falcons jumped out to a 20-15 lead after one quarter, and the Martians didn’t take the lead until there was a minute left in the first half. Goodrich took a 34-33 lead at halftime, and led 52-43 after the third quarter.
Pfaff and Jacci Brothers led the Martians with 14 points each. Brothers went 8-of-11 from the free throw line and added seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Shannon Harbin chipped in with nine points, and Maribeth Barns contributed seven points, five steals and five assists.
Goodrich returns to action Oct. 7 when they travel to Hamady.
