On Friday, Feb. 11 perseverance from the Oxford Wildcat Varsity Basketball team paid off.
The Cats beat Fenton on their home court 74-63.
Assistant Coach Andrew Rowley said the team played a tough game from start to finish, not letting up on shots, rebounds, or assists.
Rowley said while the whole team had an overall good game, Senior Dave Wendt led in points sinking 23 shotsand 14 rebounds.
Junior mark Willar shot an overall 22 points with four assists and went 11 out of 12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
Junior Bill Keenist had an great game shooting six points and making eight rebounds and four blocks.
The Wildcats hope to keep on track against the Black Hawks at 7 p.m.Friday at Brandon High School.
