Cash for Candy nets 600 pounds of sweetness

Having an abundance of leftover Halloween candy is not necessarily a bad thing.
For the second year in a row. Stonehouse Family Dental, collected Halloween candy to be donated to troops overseas. Last year’s ‘Cash for Candy? program yielded approximately 600 pounds of candy total, and the total for this year is more than 600 pounds.
‘Sugar is the primary cause of tooth decay,? said Dr. Christopher Navetta, who along with Dr. Peter Duz continued the fight against sugar and paid $1 per pound of candy.
Inspired by Operation Gratitude, a program that sends care packages to overseas troops, Stonehouse also sends toothbrushes along with the candy. Stonehouse Family Dental is located at 850 Ortonville Road Details 248-627-9393.
