In the Feb. 24 edition of the Oxford Leader we incorrectly reported on Oxford Township’s Cemetery maintenance contract.
We incorrectly reported, “Curtis and Wright met with Sean Vidican of Aaron’s Lawn in Order, who has handled the maintenance at the North Oxford, Oxford Township, and Ridgelawn Cemeteries since 2018, to discuss a new contract with the company.”
Ridgelawn Cemetery’s Chris Acheson called us last week to point out, Ridgelawn is a private cemetery and receives no funding from the township. We should have reported, “Curtis and Wright met with Sean Vidican of Aaron’s Lawn in Order, who has handled the maintenance at the North Oxford, Oxford Township, and Oakwood cemeteries since 2018, to discuss a new contract with the company.”

In other news, warm weather has caused a move up on the cleanup date for Ridgelawn Cemetery. According to Acheson, starting this Saturday (March 20), he will commence to pick up all wreaths and grave blankets. If anyone wants to retrieve what they have placed on grave sites, they need to do it before Saturday.
“Mother Nature sets my calendar,” Acheson said. “If I don’t get those things off the ground soon, I will have dead grass there.”
