Getting that group floor routine closer and closer to state championships quality every week, the Wildcat cheerleaders took their highest score of the season last week, landing them second place.
On Jan. 19, the ladies travelled to Oak Park to compete in the Knights Invite. The final two rounds of the day gave the Wildcats some season-bests, with round two hitting 217.36 and round three landing the ladies 290.70.
Totaled with the round one scores, the Wildcats left the competition with a season-high cumulative score of 732.16 and second place accolades.
With the second OAA White competition of the season coming up on Jan. 24, Head Coach Alanna Weber is looking to hone the team’s skills.
“We will continue to focus on skills in round two, jumps and motion placement in round one and cleaning up stunts and skills in round three,” she said. “We will be focusing on the little things this week to critique rounds for our league meet.”
After they head to the league competition this Thursday, the Wildcats will travel to the Adams Invite on Jan. 25.
