Clarkston downs Dragons, 7-5; Oxford up this Friday

The Lake Orion Varsity Baseball team played Clarkston May 5, falling to their neighboring rivals 7-5.
Lake Orion gave up three runs in the first inning while only scoring one of their own. The second inning saw a similar performance with another three runs for Clarkston and another single run for Lake Orion.
In the third, Lake Orion’s defense started to gain steam, only allowing one run to the Wolves for the rest of the game. Lake Orion had to play catch up, scoring three more runs before the game’s end.
Notable performances include sophomore pitcher Cody Campbell, who pitched 10 strikeouts after entering the game in the third inning. Senior Cole Schaenzer also had a couple of hits and scored three runs.
Seemingly launching back from their loss, the boys played in the Big Twelve Tournament on May 7, taking home wins against Walled Lake Northern (10-0), Farmington (12-2), and Detroit Country Day (7-2.)
They played again Monday against Adams, beating the Highlanders 7-0.
