Thinking of renting the Depot Park gazebo for an upcoming event? Rates are set to rise July 1. Residents of the City of the Village of Clarkston will pay $300 to rent the structure, while non-residents will be asked to fork over a $400 fee.
As always, anyone’residents or not’are welcome to come by use the gazebo as a setting for photos, said City Manager Dennis Ritter. The rental fee only applies to those wishing to use the gazebo for a wedding ceremony or other event.
In addition to a hike in gazebo fees, groups wishing to hang a banner over Main Street will have to lay out $200’four times as much as the previous $50 fee’for reservations made after July 1.
‘It’s a wash,? said Ritter, noting the city did a comprehensive cost analysis to determine what it spends in labor and machinery to put up’and take down’each banner. ‘We’re not making a profit, all we’re doing is recovering our costs.?
