Folks who have doubts about whether their votes count should talk to Mike McCready and Jim Tedder.
McCready edged out Tedder by 288 votes in the Aug. 7 Republican primary race for the 12th District seat in the state Senate, according to the unofficial results posted by the Oakland County Elections Division.
McCready garnered 12,512 votes among the district’s 121 precincts, while Tedder received 12,224 votes.
The other two GOP candidates Terry Whitney and Vernon Molnar received 2,071 and 766 votes, respectively.
McCready will face Democrat Rosemary Bayer in the November election. She ran unopposed in her party’s primary and received 27,667 votes.
In the Democratic primary for the 46th District seat in the state House, Mindy Denninger beat Tom Watson 6,393 to 1,708.
Come November, Denninger will face Republican incumbent John Reilly, who ran unopposed in his primary and garnered 11,115 votes.
