The summer’s first concert in the park was canceled, hours before it was scheduled to start last Thursday. The weekly concert series, organized by Oxford Downtown Development Authority, has been suspended until further notice.
“We will be evaluating public health risks as we go forward, but as long as Covid-19 cases are on the upswing in Oakland County we will err on the side of caution,” the DDA announced.
The anticipated number of attendees exceeded the 100 person outdoor gathering limit set by Gov. Whitmer’s executive order, according to Bob Marshall, whose band was set to perform. “We are VERY disappointed. BUT it is nice that so many of you were going to show up,” he wrote on Facebook.
