Deputies report objects thrown at moving vehicles

Brandon Twp.- Police need the community’s help in solving a series of crimes that have occurred over the last six weeks in which objects are being thrown at moving vehicles.
Two more incidents were reported Nov. 17, when deputies were called about 5:29 p.m. to the area of Seymour Lake Road and Sashabaw Road. The complainant was eastbound on Seymour Lake Road near Kathleen Lake Drive when objects struck the hood and windshield of the 2007 Ford Edge he was driving. The complainant was passing a westbound vehicle around the time of the impact and he was unsure if the objects were thrown from the vehicle. The hood was scratched and the impact of several objects to the windshield caused it to shatter.
About 20 minutes after this incident was reported, a motorist called for help in the area of S. Ortonville Road and Elizabeth St. The complainant said an object, believed to be a pop bottle, struck the hood of her 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, causing a softball-sized dent in the hood. She was southbound on M-15, south of the Dollar General store when she passed an unknown northbound vehicle and is unsure if the object was thrown from this vehicle, or from property on the east side of the road.
These incidents are just two more in a series of similar incidents that have been reported since late September. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
