Donnay’s game-winning shot propels BHS girls cagers to win

On a night honoring the Brandon girls basketball team’s two seniors, it was a freshman that came through at the end of the game for the Blackhawks.
Meg Donnay hit a shot with three seconds remaining to lift host Brandon past Lapeer West 48-46 in their Nov. 11 matchup. The win lifted Brandon’s record to 7-12 overall and 7-4 in the Flint Metro League.
Before the game, seniors Lauhnna Waybrant and Jessica Stone, who were playing their last home game for the Blackhawks, were honored and presented with gifts from their teammates. Waybrant finished with seven points in the game, while Stone scored four.
Jessica Jennings and Jessica Liebner led Brandon with nine points each, while Donnay added seven points and seven assists.
