Dorothy E. Barnes, of Imlay City, formerly Lakeville, died January 14, 2018 at the United hospice Residence in Marlette. She was 92.

Dorothy was born May 27, 1925 in Bates Township, Michigan to the late Alfred and Joyce Goulet. She later married Lawrence Thomas Barnes. Dorothy was a past member of American Legion Auxiliary – Post 108, she was Rosie the Riveter, and later upgraded to selling War Bonds during WWII, and a proud Gold Star Mother. She was also a homemaker that loved to cook, and no one ever left her home hungry.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Lawrence (Laronna) Barnes, Kathy (Clyde) Hartsuck, siblings: Betty Beaudoin, James (Yvonne) Goulet, 7 grandchildren: Stephen (Stacey), Michelle, Launa, Jennifer (Brent), Daniel (Casey), Ryan (April), Aaron, and close friend Harold. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: George, Mike, siblings: Arthur, Fred “Chum”, Raymond, and Earl.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place later this spring. Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Beaumont Pediatric Cancer Center.
