Dr. Rachael Ustruck has joined the staff at POH Regional Medical Center, Ortonville.
Ustruck, a 2006 graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa., served her residency at St. John Macomb-Oakland and began her family medicine practice at POH in August.
‘I like family medicine, treating both children and their parents,? said Ustruck. ‘There is continuity of care and it’s nicer than emergency room medicine, where you may see a patient once and never see them again.?
Ustruck, 30, offers osteopathic manipulative medicine? a way to evaluate and treat the spine? and is a proponent of preventative care, including regular check-ups. She notes that POH Ortonville, currently has the seasonal flu vaccine available and is expecting H1N1 vaccines soon.
The Royal Oak resident is enjoying the small-town atmosphere of Ortonville.
‘I like the close-knit community and everyone is very friendly,? she said.
