The Dragons took home a pair of victories last week against Birmingham Groves and Stoney Creek.
Leading the charge against Groves was senior Justin Walukonis with 20 points, followed closely by sophomore John McCarty with 19 in the 68-60 victory on Feb. 14.
McCarty proved equally strong in the game against Stoney Creek on Feb. 17, shooting 15 points in the 50-43 victory. Junior Chaz Miller brought in 12 points.
The Dragons will take to the court again on Feb. 24 for a game against now-rivals the Rochester. Previously, Orion fought to a double overtime against the Falcons before falling just short of yet another tied quarter. Head Coach Tom Risi is hoping to change that for Friday’s game, but admits the team is a “formidable foe.”
Orion will play Stoney Creek again soon on March 5 for the introductory game into the OAA Playoffs.
