Ortonville- Glennis Hubbard’s decision last week to withdraw her candidacy for a 4-year term as village council trustee means there will be five names on the ballot for that position, and nine names on the ballot overall.
In explaining her decision, Hubbard said, ‘When I look at the candidates who are running, I think they are good, strong candidates and are all running for the same thing… I’m not looking to run against the very people I would support.?
The remaining candidates for the three available 4-year council trustee terms are Aileen Champion, Dan Eschmann, Michael Via, and incumbents Marcy Hanes and Mary Kassuba. On the ballot for a 2-year council president term are Ken Quisenberry and current Council President Sue Bess; and running for a 2-year partial term are Melanie Nivelt and incumbent Larry Hayden.
