A flag retirement ceremony will occur at Oxford American Legion Post 108 on Saturday, April 30.
It will commence at 10 a.m. and continue until all the flags are retired.
The public is encouraged to attend.
Refreshments will be provided.
Anyone who has American or Michigan flags in need of proper retirement due to poor condition is welcome to bring them and contribute them to the ceremony.
“We (currently) have about seven bags worth (of flags), like big trash bags,” said Julian Messina, a Life Scout with Troop 108 and senior at Oxford High School.
Messina is organizing the ceremony as his Eagle Scout service project.
Post 108 is located at 130 E. Drahner Rd., just east of M-24.
