Ortonville- When Leslie Cox was married six years ago, there was no professional photographer at her wedding. It is her sole regret about the day.
‘We decided to feed our guests instead,? she laughs. ‘We were trying to save money, but it’s so devastating to not have the photos. After everything is done, that’s all you have left.?
Cox’s regret inspired her to make a great career choice, however; she became a professional photographer and five years ago founded her own business? Flexible Photography. On April 26, she opened a studio in the village, located at 421 Mill St., next to Papa Bella’s Pizza.
Cox knows what it is like to not be able to afford a large photography package, particularly in the current economy, so she works with her customers and tailors a package to their budget, hence the name Flexible Photography.
‘In this economy, you can still afford to have beautiful memories,? she said. ‘We will work things out together.?
Flexible Photography is ready to help with all your picture needs? portraits of high school seniors, babies, families, weddings, engagements, pets, and commercial photography? Cox does it all.
She is working on a degree in photography from Mott Community College, and currently has one of her photographs on display in an art show at the school. Another of her portraits was on display at the Old Town Lansing Art Gallery last month.
‘I take a lot of time to get those perfect shots,? Cox said. ‘I sit down with customers before I take the pictures and get to know them, and let them get to know me so they are comfortable when they come back for their photo session. I’m looking forward to the upcoming wedding season and helping out the community with senior portraits. Now they have someone local for senior pictures instead of traveling to Oxford or Clarkston.?
Flexible Photography, 421 Mill St., will host an open house from noon-4 p.m., May 14.
