Man arrested following dispute at local business
A deputy responded to a disturbance complaint at an Oxford business near West Oakwood Road and Mullins Court on Friday, Nov.1 at 2:13 p.m. Upon arrival, a 51-year-old Macomb man – a former employee of the business – became confrontational and was arrested and charged with resisting and obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and trespassing. Forced to be tased during the struggle, a search of the man’s pickup truck revealed a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Initially taken to the Oxford Township Substation, the man was transported to Oakland County Jail in Pontiac.
Search continues for runaway juvenile
On Thursday, October 31 at 11:10 p.m., deputies were called to a home on Wyndham Drive where a woman reported her 16-year-old daughter and her friend were missing. In what appears to be a runaway, the young girl is on probation for a previous offense. The woman has been notified to contact the Sheriff’s Department when she hears from her daughter.
Truancy issue at Crossroads for Youth
A 16-year-old juvenile was reported to have left the premises at Crossroads for Youth on East Drahner Road on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 2:16 a.m. by a treatment specialist at the facility. Originally from Pontiac, the young man entered the program on Oct. 21 for possession of stolen property and assault with a weapon.
Sheriffs have been in contact with the juvenile’s parents and the search remains ongoing.
