Gary Andrew Gibson passed away at the age of 68 on Feb. 20, 2025.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many years hunting and fishing. He shared his passion of the outdoors with his children, family, and friends. Gary found peace whenever he was on the water or in the woods. He also never turned down a trip to a casino with friends and family.

Gary never met a stranger, often speaking at length with people he encountered for the first time.  He loved to make people laugh and was well-known for his “one-liners.” Gary was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, papa, and friend.

Gary loved his community at Shay Lake. He would spend many days driving around, making stops for coffee with friends. Gary faithfully served the community no matter the weather, grading roads and/or plowing snow, while also proudly serving Dayton Township as a Blight Officer.

Gary is survived by his wife Karen Gibson, sister Mollie (Ray) Smith; sister Shirley Gibson; sister Linda (Jerry) Long; brother David (Heidi) Gibson; sister Debra Ritz; daughter Kristy Gibson; son Shane (Kelly) Gibson; son Joe Koslakiewicz; son Jeff (Kim) Koslakiewicz; grandchildren Rylee, Anna, Gabriel, Sydney, Kaleb, Abigail, Ella, Calvin and Faith.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents William Jr. and Mary Gibson; brother Ronald Gibson; brother Michael Gibson; and sister Sandra Gibson.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to the Modetz Family Funeral Homes in Lake Orion.  A celebration of life will take place in the summer for family and friends at a date and time to be determined.
