Some of the team’s best athletes managed to continue to stay competitive against the county’s fastest runners.
Senior standouts John “JJ” Bagans and Hunter Green led the Wildcats coming in 18th and 20th out of the 228 racers that day, respectively. Bagans ran the 5,000 meters race with a time of 17:19.0, and Green came in at 17:22.6.
Also coming in near the front and finishing 30th, junior Scott Masterson ran a time of 17:34.9.
Another Oxford runner, junior Shane Ross, crossed the finish line with a time of 18:19.6, which landed him at 63rd place.

The cross county boys and girls will be back at it on Oct. 12 at the Oxford Invitational, which will be held at the Oxford Golf Course.
