‘I just want her back…?

Brandon Twp.- Ted Medlock misses his dog. He is hopeful that someone knows where the 2-year-old pitbull named Brandy is and will help get her back home where she belongs.
On Feb. 13, Medlock let Brandy out behind his home in the 3400 block of S. Ortonville Road, between Oakhill and Seymour Lake roads. He hasn’t seen her since.
‘My daughter’s dog was out with her and came back, but Brandy never did,? said Medlock. ‘She’s never run away before. She’s the gentlest thing, wouldn’t bother nobody. She’ll fetch a ball for you and try to lick you to death, that’s all.?
Medlock and his daughter, Nichole Medlock, have checked the pound and the shelters every few days, in search of Brandy, a reddish brown dog, who has white on her chest, as well as a patch of white on her left rear paw, and a patch of white on a toe on her right rear paw. She has a chain collar, but no tags. Nichole has put up posters of Brandy at stores and fliers in mailboxes.
‘We’ve had people report three or four sightings, but we don’t know if it’s her,? said Ted. ‘I don’t know if she’s scared of everybody or what.?
Nichole got Brandy for her father when the dog was just 3-weeks-old. Her former owners were moving and didn’t want the puppy.
‘I raised her with a bottle,? said Ted. ‘She’s my companion, she keeps me happy. She barks and lets me know if anyone comes around.?
Ted, 51, has used a wheelchair since he was paralyzed in an accident many years ago. Brandy has helped him be more active.
‘She makes him get out of the bed and throw the ball for her, makes him move around,? said Nichole. ‘She’s good for his mobility and his spirit. He goes outside now, give her treats, plays tug of rope with her. It’s really nice that he’s doing more, not just staying stationary.?
‘I just want her back,? said Ted.
