James G. Alexander, of Lake Orion, died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on July 29, 2016. He was 69.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Jean Alexander; his sister Delores McMinn; his brother Robert (Paula) Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was a Drill Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He was self employed and owner of Village Contracting in Lake Orion and worked on numerous local projects.

He helped build an airplane, and enjoyed flying, wood carving and hunting.
