Judith A. Anderson (nee Mattson) passed away on Nov. 2, 2018 at the age of 75 following a battle with a rare cancer.
Born on April 16, 1943 to Reuben and Agnes Mattson in Highland Park. Judy graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1961 then continued on to Virginia Farrell Beauty School.
She married Duane, her husband of 42 years, in 1963. They had two children, Sharon and Jeff. Judy worked as a hair dresser over the years as well as at doctor’s offices and insurance offices. Prior to her retirement in 2013 she worked for 15 years at Kroger in Lake Orion. Her favorite past times were golfing, bowling, crocheting, antiquing and shopping. But, most important to her were spending time with her family and friends. Her grandkids were most important to her. She always made time to go to their softball and baseball games, concerts and recitals. Whatever her grandkids were involved in, she was there. She had a special bond with each of them and she will be greatly missed.
She will also be greatly missed by her daughter Sharon (Oly), brother Jerry, daughter-in-law Cheryl, grandchildren Megan (Dan), Andrea, Stephanie and Hunter, Aunt Myrtle, cousins Jill (Bill), Dennis (Sandy), Connie (Bob), Sue (Bob), David, Bill and Joyce and her dear friend Claudette as well as other family and friends. She will live forever in our hearts.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane and son Jeff. As requested, a private funeral will take place, arrangements handled by Modetz Funeral Home in Orion.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
