After a tough physical contest between the Lady Cat hoopsters and Rochester Adams, Oxford got their third win of the season with a score of 53-47.
‘The game was an extremely physical game and our girls did a great job of executing offensively and defensively,? Head Coach Steve Emert said.
Oxford pulled ahead in the first half 27-16 and remained ahead for the rest of the game. Oxford’s leading scorers were Abby Butkiewicz with 20, Monae Evans with 17 and Madelyn Morris with 14. Evans led the team with 18 rebounds.
‘Abby, Monae and Madelynne are the backbone of our team . ‘Abby as captain has not only scored for us but supplies great leadership,? Emert added. ‘Monae, besides scoring, is averaging over 12 rebounds a game. ‘Madelynne also is a scorer for us and totally believes in team concept.?
The girls? current record is 3-8. The Ladies will travel to North Farmington on Friday.
‘Before we think about North Farmington, we have Stoney Creek tomorrow for a red division game,? Emert told this reporter on Monday.
