The Lady Cats went 1-1 on the hardwood this past week.
The girls faced the Lapeer Lightning on Feb. 16, where they lost 40-32.
Abby Butkiewicz hit a three-poin buzzer beater in the fourth quarter to tie it up, but unfortunately they couldn’t scratch the win in overtime.
The Lapeer game was a back and forth game for 32 minutes,? said Head Coach Steve Emert. ‘Unfortunately Lapeer outscored us in the overtime period.??
Oxford was led by Abby Butkiewicz and Monae Evans with 14 points each. Evans and Grace Cleland each contributed nine rebounds. Lapeer was led by Lisa West and Samantha Thick each with eight points.
The Lady Cats were able to bounce back after their overtime loss and take a 57-37 victory over Rochester Adams on Thursday, Feb. 18.
‘We did not match the intensity level of Adams, but we played much better in the second half,? Emert said. ?
The girls will host Troy High School on Thursday for an OAA Crossover game. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
