Live music at Toys for Tots

For $10 or a new, unwrapped toy, you can enjoy a night of live music and entertainment, as the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club hosts its ninth annual ‘Toys for Tots? Benefit, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2-9 p.m.
This year’s bands include Phil Treais Group, Mike Sneed, Urban Nomads, Skee Brothers, Wage Slave, Donde, Targus, Mule Train, and Terri Lee and the Mustangs. Emcees for the evening will be John O’Leary of 94.7 WCSX and Carl Coffey of 103.1 WQUS.
There will also be a cash bar and food available.
Jim Hamblin, who used to be the road manager for the Detroit rock-n-roll band The Rockets and currently plays with the Urban Nomads, said he enjoys the Toys for Tots benefit each year.
‘It started out just me and Charlie Martin, and another band, then I just brought my band into it one thing led to another and then before you know it’s grown into 10 bands,? said Hamblin. ‘It’s very successful we’re happy to say.?
Hamblin noted he always enjoys having his parents at the event as well as two Marines every year.
‘They always ask if there are any veterans so they always make my mom and dad stand up because my dad is a World War II veteran, so that’s always a neat thing,? he said.
The OCSC is located at 4470 Waterford Road in Independence Township. For more information call the club at 248-623-0444.
