Oxford and Addison were squarely in the corner of U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump as most local voters supported the Republican in the Nov. 8 election.
Oxford voters cast 6,953 ballots for Trump versus 3,469 ballots for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. In Addison, voters chose Trump over Clinton 2,576 to 922.
Oakland County as a whole went Democratic as 342,976 voted for Clinton and 289,127 voted for Trump.
Based on straight-party ticket voting, Oxford and Addison remained solid GOP strongholds.
In Oxford, 3,421 residents cast a straight Republican ticket, while 1,326 voted straight Democratic. A total of 1,386 Addison residents voted straight GOP tickets versus 372 who voted straight Democratic.
