Save time, gas, and money by shopping locally. Area businesses are offering a wide selection of merchandise and deals this season right here in town.
The atmosphere is festive at Willow Pointe Flowers & Gifts, 425 M-15, where shoppers can find all their decorating needs, including a variety of specialty Santa figures, silver and crystal and gold and red themed, rustic and woodsy ornaments, all specially selected. December is Fontanini month, with many of the Italian crafted nativity pieces on sale, but Fontanini isn’t the only thing specially priced.
‘We have markdowns and coupons the whole month of December and many gifts under $10,? says Willow Pointe Owner Grace Geisler.
Those gifts include angel figurines, jewelry, ornaments and specialty bookmarks. Snowbabies figurines and all Dept. 56 village pieces and accessories are 40 percent off. The shop also offers free gift wrapping for in-store purchases.
At Second Thoughts Resale Shoppe, 1888 Ortonville Road, customers can find furniture, jewelry, purses, candles, art, dishes, home decor, and more unique, affordable items. The store has a Christmas open house planned for today, Dec. 12, with door prizes, refreshments, and gift certificate drawings.
‘Come shop in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere without the hustle and bustle,? invites owner Anne Wesol.
Need a gift for your furry friends? At Lucy’s Pet Supplies & Feeds, 8159 S. State Road, Goodrich, owner Angela Grogan wants you to be able to cater to your pet’s tastes. Rather than buy a pre-made pet stocking with items they may not care for, stuff a stocking with all their favorites. Grogan has set up a stocking stuffer station with items to choose from including rawhides, bones or toys. Pick a few and make a stocking up for less than $10.
Birdfeeders also make a really nice Christmas gift, Grogan notes, starting at just $6.99. At Wojo’s Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road, select some fresh greenery to deck the halls. Wreaths are created on site and poinsettias are plentiful. The newest variety is ‘ice punch,? for something different, says Lisa Kemeny. Poinsettias range in size and price from $3.98 to $29.98. Wojo’s also offers discounts on volume purchases, and gives a 5 percent discount to all churches.
Looking to give a great evening out? Purchase a $50 gift card to Bullfrogs Bar and Grill, 2225 Ortonville Road, and receive a $10 gift card for free.
