There were some local faces in this year’s 83rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Goodrich seniors Kelsey Neville and Amanda Lindsay danced through the streets of New York City on Nov. 26.
‘I was so excited to go,? said Lindsay. ‘We did so much counting down, I couldn’t believe it when it was finally here.?
The girls danced to a mix of songs about America alongside 720 other dancers in their group. ‘All the captains of high school dance teams that are a part of the Universal Dance Association are invited to be in the parade,? said Neville, ‘along with high school cheerleading captains that are part of the Universal Cheerleading Association.? Neville and Lindsay are the first Goodrich students to accept the invite, and make their way to the Big Apple on Nov. 20.
Preparing for the parade was no easy task; all the dancers paricipated in numerous rehearsals, classes, and practices with choreographers over the six-day trip.
