Marilyn J. Scriver, age 86, born January 22, 1930, and went to be with the Lord May 12, 2016.
Marilyn was a graduate and long time resident of Oxford, MI. Respected for her outstanding work ethic, she began her cooking career in the 1950’s. She went on to share her culinary skills in local restaurants and country clubs. Marilyn ended her career at Kalloway’s in 2009 where patrons, coworkers, and friends knew her as “Granny”.
Loving mother of four, preceded in death by her son Charles Scriver. Survived by daughters Terry Reeves, Mary Egerton, Kim Zubal and son in laws Robert Egerton and Jerry Zubal. Adored by her family, including 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Best known for her generosity, easygoing, go-with-the-flow gentle spirit and her avid love of Detroit Tiger baseball and ice cream. She was a loyal member of Shalom Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services took place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Monday, May 16.
Interment at the Oxford Township Cemetery.
