Men arraigned in Brandon converter thefts

Two men found stealing a catalytic converter from a park and ride lot two weeks ago, in Independence Township, have been arraigned in the thefts of numerous other converters in Brandon Township.
Jason Brian Morgan, 23, of Clarkston was arraigned Jan. 22 in front of 52-2 District Court Judge Dana Fortinberry on a charge of larceny more than $1,000, less than $20,000 and a charge of receiving and concealing stolen property.
His accomplice, Dannie Vernon Vore, Jr., 27, of Goodrich, was to be arraigned on the same charges on Jan. 24.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Pacholski, of the Brandon substation, had investigated catalytic converter thefts since August in the area that the pair was ultimately found responsible for.
According to police reports, Morgan and Vore are suspected of taking converters from vehicles parked at area businesses including Solley’s, Master Rack, Randy Wise Ford, Hamilton’s, Papa Bella’s, Ortonville Transmission, and Waste Away.
