On May 4, the Oxford High School Varsity Girls’ Soccer team defeated West Bloomfield High School with a 1-0 score.
The Lady Cats fought down to the wire in a game which saw both teams in a defensive battle.
The perseverence paid off with a goal by Mackenzie Methner with just 42 seconds left on the clock. The goal was set up by Micah Rolling.
The midfield play of Megan Bouren and Lauren Methner was outstanding and allowed the team to control the flow of the game. Megan Armbruster played well to record the shutout.
“Our girls played great this week and I could not be happier with the way we continue to improve,” said head coach Phil Kimmel.
The Wildcats finished the week with three wins in as many attempts.
Next up, the Lady Cats travel to North Farmington High on Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
