Ned Eugene Mudd 80, of Holland, formerly of Oxford, passed away August 19, 2021 after complications from Alzheimer’s and COVID.
He was born Aug. 16, 1941, Midland, He was the son of Melvin E. and Anna M. (Jardno) Mudd. Ned graduated from Midland High School 1959. He married Phyllis F. Hock on Dec.7, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock. Ned worked construction after High school, and then worked for General Motors Truck and Bus, for 34 years in Pontiac, before retiring on Jan.17, 1997.
Ned enjoyed his morning walks, as well as tending to his yard and garden.
He is preceded by his parents, Melvin and Anna, and Virgil and Helen Hock; daughter in law Sally Mudd; brother in laws: Howard Diener and Karl Hock, and nephews: Gene Diener and Fred Kruth.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis and three sons: Glenn and (Tanya) of Hamilton, Randy and (Mary) of Auburn and Kirk and (Erica) of Douglas. Grandsons Evan and (Elly) of Allendale and Brady (Sam Getty) of Hamilton, and Keaton of Hamilton and Andrew of Anderson, South Carolina and Alex of Port Orange, Florida, and Mitchell and Joshua of Douglas, Kris Yonai of Fennville. Brother Ted and (Helen) Mudd of Midland; sister in laws Maxine Diener of Saginaw and Charlene Hock of Hemlock, many family and friends.
Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Downtown Chapel. Services will be at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock starting at noon, Sept. 19.
