OAC director leaves program in good standing

Orion Art Center (OAC) Executive Director Lauren Dinneweth is moving on from
her position at the arts nonprofit, after three years of growth and accomplishment.
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience leading and building this organization. I am excited to explore a new opportunity that will move me forward in my career,? said
Dinneweth. ‘I am leaving the Art Center with a solid structure and strategy for continued success.?
Dinneweth arrived with a vision of sustainability that included a progressive philosophy of establishing the organization as a catalyst for positive change in the community.
In the last three years, she rebuilt the digital record which was lost prior to her tenure and strengthened relationships with community members, artists and municipalities.
‘Lauren poured her heart and soul into this organization,? says OAC Board President Ron Harper. ‘She took the mission of the Art Center beyond art into the realm of
connecting the community. She’s leaving us with a solid foundation for moving forward
and will be missed.?
Dinneweth also directed reforms to the organization’s print and online presence,
including a new logo and brand campaign and improvements to the physical space.
She spearheaded the initiative to make Dragon on the Lake a community festival, tripling its size and adding a separate Art Festival. She was also instrumental in the addition of the Clay Studio which functions as a division of the OAC in a donated building.
‘I am proud to have worked with amazing organizations, artists, and volunteers to overcome challenges and achieve a new level of partnership with the community,? Dinneweth said, adding that she’s grateful to the support of a dedicated OAC board of directors.
While Dinneweth could not name her new opportunity, she guaranteed it would allow her to follow her artistic passion utilizing photography and other avenues.
