A large pile of rubble is all that remained following the demolition of the building that once housed New Beginnings Baptist Church.

Located at 985 N. Lapeer Rd. on the Oxford-Orion border, the church was torn down last week to make way for Grace Premier Senior Living.

The 54,052-square-foot facility will offer assisted living and memory care  services. It will contain 63 units, with one and two bedrooms each, to house a total of 69 residents.
