Leonard kicked off the holiday season with its old-fashioned Christmas tree lighting event on Dec. 7. Longtime village Councilman Char Sutherby was given the honor of flipping the switch.
Once the tree was aglow with colored lights, everybody filed into Rowland Hall to sing Christmas carols, enjoy cookies and hot chocolate, open a few gifts and listen to a couple of holiday stories read by Sutherby.
It was a perfect little evening.
