To kick off National Fire Prevention Week, the Oxford Fire Department will host its annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 1 from noon to 4 p.m.
It will be held at Fire Station #1, located at 96 N. Washington St.
Activities will include fire extinguisher demonstrations, a smoke house, fire truck viewing, spraying a real fire hose, face-painting, a CPR station, free vital signs check, an extrication demonstration and a visit from an air ambulance (helicopter).
Parents can also make sure their young children are riding safely in their vehicles by having their car seats inspected by a certified car-seat technician.
Refreshments, including hot dogs, chips and cookies, will be served.
