Oxford boys varsity soccer begins district play

The Oxford High School boys varsity soccer finished the regular season at 12-1-5, with the team’s only loss coming to Troy High School in the final game of the season.
Troy, ranked third in the state, beat Oxford 2-0 on Oct. 3 in an OAA Red matchup. Oxford (3-1-3 OAA Red), ranked fourth in the state, finished third in the OAA Red behind Troy (12-2, 6-1 OAA Red) and Rochester Adams (12-2-4, 5-1-1 OAA Red).
Oxford was scheduled to play Clarkston (10-9-1) in the MHSAA District 6 semifinal at Davison High School on Tuesday after Leader press time.
The winner will move on to the district final and play either Lake Orion (10-3-2) or Grand Blanc (16-1-2), ranked sixth in the state, at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Davison High School. – J.N.
