Attention out there in TV land ? if you’re looking to watch Oxford and Addison government meetings and community events, they’re no longer on Channel 19.
As of Tuesday, Dec. 1, Oxford Community Television’s programming is now being broadcast on Channel 97 in basic cable.
‘I was watching it yesterday on 19 and today I’m watching it on 97,? said Don Huegerich, station manager for OCTV. ‘You go to 19 now, there’s nothing on it.?
According to a brochure put out by Charter Communications, the PEG (Public, Educational and Governmental) cable access channel was relocated to accommodate the addition of six new High Definition channels and six new Standard Digital channels.
‘People will just have to adapt to it, I guess,? Huegerich said. ‘The one thing I noticed is if you back-click from (Channel) 2, you’re at 97. We’re actually just under the first channel. I think if there was a plus, that would be it.?
‘I don’t think the quality’s going to be a problem,? the station manager noted.
For those viewers who have digital cable, which requires special equipment to watch, you’ll find all your local government officials and high school sports stars doing their thing on Channel 991, which is part of a new programming option called the ‘Public Affairs Neighborhood.?
Oxford viewers who like to keep up with things in neighboring Brandon Township and Ortonville will notice that community’s local programming has moved from Channel 18 to channels 99 and 993.
