Oxford man killed in crash

At about 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, Dennis Shea, 49, of Oxford, was fatally injured in a single-car accident on Miller Road in Oakland Township.
According to a Jan. 18 article in The Daily Oakland Press, Oakland County Sheriff’s personnel reported Shea apparently lost control of his 2004 Chevy van on westbound Miller Road, left the roadway and hit a tree before rolling over. Shea was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills where he later died. Whether or not alcohol was a factor in the crash remains under investigation, according to authorities quoted in the Press.
Dennis M. Shea was the beloved husband of Sally Shea and loving father of Mike (Nicole) Shea, and brother of Dianna. He was grandfather to Braylynne and Alexis and son of Marie and the late Vernon Shea.
He was the son-in-law of Roger and Jane Bigelow and survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shea was a General Motors employee for 29 years and an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time at his cabin.
